Nostalgic Pics of the Past

Reading Kristi's last blog entitled "Rooftops are for dancing", I felt a bit nostalgic and digged up a couple of old pictures taken in Ehden, Lebanon troughout the years I've spent there.
Hope you enjoy those pics as much as I do:

That's my Cameroonian friend Titi, posing as "king of the world" on one of the highest peaks in Lebanon, above Ehden in a few miles. (2003)

This is a picnic held by a group of my friends in Ehden, Lebanon (2002)
Can you guess which of them am I?

Wow...those are great pictures!!--and in Lebanon of all places! I don't know that I have ever seen pictures of Lebanon before, so thanks! I love that last rooftop view. It's like a city above the clouds.

I can't get enough of the last pic. I miss mountains!! I'll be hiking in Colorado this summer, so I'll get my dose of high-altitude for the year.

Well everyone,
Unfortunatly, the image of Lebanon broken by the civil war and the struggle that was held there for a very long time uptill now has caused many traumas and many destruction to the reality and the beauties there. However, did you know that Lebanon used to be called "Lebnein El-Akhdar" = "The Green Lebanon"..
In some places such as Ehden and many others, people can still see that and that's the reason why Lebanese people keep up the struggle for the sake of preserving the beauty of their country they're proud of and pushing it towards a better future for the next generations to come..
With all of what happenned recently in Lebanon, from the day of the tragic death of our former beloved ex-prime minister Rafik El-Hariri, Lebanese people around the globe united together to say enough to the System causing all that chaos over there. Upon that, we Lebanese of different Nationalities see the uprising of a new era of freedom arising from the ashes of the tyranic system that ruled Lebanon for around 30 years now..
Hopefully soon enough, every person around the world would see this image of the beautiful Lebanon that it is..
Sorry, I might have went too far with this description of my origin country, it's just out of the enormous love I hold inside towards it..
Thank you all for your lovely comments..
And by the way, yes Kristi, it is a city above the clouds.. Do you know what reveals when the clouds clear? The beach and The sea.. (Unfortunatly, I do not have a picture of the same view revealing the beach)
Wanna see more pics of Ehden, check out (www.mus-abroad.blogspot.com)it's my cousins blog whom has just left for a visit to Lebanon..
